Frequently asked questions.
What qualifications and experience do your advocates have to support families in special education matters?
We are experienced, credentialed educators who transitioned from traditional school systems to directly advocate for families. Tiffany holds active licenses in General and Special Education across multiple states and brings nearly 20 years of expertise from roles like Master Teacher, SpEd Chair, and Behavioral Support Teacher in public, charter, and private schools. Therese is a retired multi-decade SpEd teacher, who formerly served as an Autism Advocate. Drawing on our individual expertise, we strive to connect each family with the Advocate whose strengths and knowledge best align with their unique needs.
What support options do you offer for families seeking advocacy in special education meetings?
Whether you choose our meeting advocacy services or prefer to advocate independently with support through correspondence, record reviews, or coaching, we tailor our approach to fit your family's unique needs. Committed to professionalism and collaboration, we uphold procedural safeguards while maintaining firm boundaries. If our concerns are disregarded, we ensure accountability by documenting and creating a digital record of any school misconduct. Your advocacy is our priority.
What are your fees for advocacy services, and how do they compare to other advocates?
Our advocacy services are priced to ensure accessibility and transparency, with rates starting at $175 per hour and capped at $200 per hour. We are committed to providing families with high-quality support at a fair and reasonable cost.
We understand that investing in advocacy is an important decision, and we strive to offer competitive pricing without compromising on the expertise we provide. For context, the Council of Parent Advocates and Attorneys reported in 2024 that advocates across the country often charge rates exceeding $600 per hour. We take pride in offering exceptional value for the professional support we deliver.
How do you ensure effective communication and support for families during the advocacy process?
We actively support families Monday through Friday, excluding breaks around major holidays. We strive to respond to emails within 24 hours. Texts are reserved for use during IEP meetings as a discreet way to communicate without alerting the rest of the team. If a phone call or email requires more time or detail than is efficient or appropriate for the situation, we will recommend scheduling a 15-, 30-, or 60-minute coaching session to ensure your needs are fully addressed.
How do I get started with ConnectEd Advocates?
To get started, simply send an inquiry, and Tiffany will reach out to you via email or phone. You’ll likely receive a brief intake survey to help us understand your child’s educational experience and the reasons you’re seeking advocacy support. If we’re a good fit for your needs, you’ll be assigned an Advocate who will connect with you directly. At the same time, you’ll receive a ConnectEd Contract to formalize our collaboration.
How are families billed for services?
Families are billed on a time-used basis, meaning you’ll pay for the actual time spent on services, including texts, calls, emails, and meeting advocacy. You can choose to pay as you go, in which case you’ll receive an invoice after each hour is accumulated. Alternatively, you can pay in advance at a discounted rate and bank hours for future use. This flexible structure allows you to choose the payment option that best fits your needs.
